Prof. (DR.)Ranbir Singh, Vice Chancellor of NLU, Delhi, inaugurated the 4th IICLAM and also delivered the inaugural address for the “Three –day International Infrastructure and Construction Law Arbitration Moot Competition” which was organized by the National Law University ,New Delhi recently.
Hounable Mr. Justice Deepak Misra, Chief Justice of Delhi High Court and Chancellor of National Law University was the chief Guest who delivered the valedictory address and also distributed the prizes to the winner teams.
The arbitrators selected by the administrators include judges leading lawyers, technocrats and representatives of professional bodies. Mr. Vivekananda ,Deputy Head (south Asia )& council ,Singapore International Arbitration center ,Ms .Jean Ho, Assistant Professor, Law National University of Singapore ,Mr. Hemant k. batra ,Chairperson ,IICLAM Organizing Council, Executive Managing Partner Kaden Boriss ,Secretary General SAARC LAW and Ms. Manila M. Sarkaria, Treasurer, IICLAM Organizing Council, Partner Kaden Boriss were present on this occasion.
The programmer gives law students an opportunity to be exposed to the various dialectics and dynamics of the international commercial arbitration. Events such as this moot are primers which help to awaken interest, create greater awareness and foster study in the area of international commercial arbitration .this moot is yet another effort towards promoting an effective arbitration culture in Asia. 16 teams from various law universities and colleges participated in the event.
The runners up of this competition are Christ University. Bangalore and the winner and best International team award was secured byNLU,Jodhpur.
The best memorial award was given to Government Law College, Mumbai and the best Law speaker award was bagged byMr.Kishore Kumar, School of Law Christ University, Bangalore
The function was well attended by the faculty and officers of NLUD and persons from various institutes associated with the legal profession .Prof (Dr.)Sri Krishna Deva Rao ,Registrar N.L.U. DELHI coordinated the program me and the vote of thanks was given by Mr. Harish Sinha , Convener ,and IICLAM Organizing Council.
